I have had the honour and pleasure of photographing countless Indian weddings in Ontario. Rishabh and Raveena’s wedding at Dreams Convention Centre was the perfect blend of elegance, culture, and unforgettable moments. From their first look at Chinguacousy Park to the wild dance floor at the reception, their day was packed with joy, color, and tradition.
We started the day with Rishabh and Raveena’s first look at Chinguacousy Park in Brampton. The park provided a natural backdrop for some intimate couple’s portraits before the busy celebrations began. These quiet moments before the festivities gave the couple time to connect and set the tone for the rest of the day.
Once we arrived at Dreams Convention Centre, I captured the bride and her bridesmaids during the getting ready moments. The energy was high, with laughter, final touches of jewelry, and lots of excitement.
Meanwhile, outside in the parking lot, Rishabh made his entrance during the Baraat—driving up in a Bentley as friends and family danced around him with music, dhol beats, and vibrant smoke bombs filling the air. It was a high-energy celebration that set the stage for the day.
The ceremony began with the Milni, where family members from both sides exchanged garlands as a symbol of unity.
Then it was time for Raveena’s entrance. She walked in under a Phoolon Ki Chadar (a canopy of flowers carried by her close friends) that framed her beautifully and added such an emotional touch to the moment.
The Hindu wedding ceremony was filled with timeless traditions and blessings. After the ceremony, the fun continued with the Joota Chupai—a playful custom where the bride’s side steals the groom’s shoes and demands a ransom for their return. Raveena’s bridesmaids had a great time bargaining with Rishabh for his slippers, keeping everyone entertained.
We also captured another unique tradition where the bride smashes a piece of jewelry above her bridesmaids’ heads. The belief is that whichever bridesmaid the jewelry breaks over will be the next to get married—it made for some really fun and candid photos.
The reception at Dreams Convention Centre was breathtaking. Guests were treated to live music by a violinist performing Indian classics, which created such an elegant atmosphere.
Rishabh and Raveena’s first dance, with a smoke machine surrounding them, was a highlight of the evening—intimate, emotional, and picture-perfect. After that, the dance floor opened up, and the celebration truly came alive with nonstop energy, laughter, and dancing.
Rishabh and Raveena’s wedding was the perfect example of why I love being an Indian wedding photographer in Brampton. From the cultural traditions to the emotional moments, every part of the day told their story in such a meaningful way.
