Before the vintage convertible, the breakdancing groom, and the celebrations of day two, there was the Nikah. Afsha and Ata gathered with family and friends at Erin Estate for a day filled with meaningful traditions, emotional moments, and one seriously energetic reception. From their first look beneath the estate’s famous tree-lined path to a sparkler exit outside the barn, every part of the day felt distinctly their own.
The day began with both sides preparing on-site at Erin Estate.
Ata looked every bit the regal groom as he got ready in one of the estate’s private suites, while Afsha slipped into her stunning lehenga in the main house with the help of her mother. The anticipation was building, and the excitement was impossible to miss.
One of the most memorable moments of the day took place along Erin Estate’s iconic tree-lined avenue.
Their first look was filled with laughter, nervous smiles, and one important mission: Ata searching through Afsha’s intricate mehndi to find his hidden name. It made for some genuinely candid moments and set the tone for the rest of the day.
Before the Nikah ceremony, we explored some of Erin Estate’s beautiful natural backdrops.
The forest trails and ceremony area provided a mix of elegant and intimate settings for portraits. With the soft woodland light filtering through the trees, every location seemed perfectly suited to the occasion.
Before heading to the ceremony, Afsha shared a first look with her bridesmaids and close friends.
Their reactions said everything. The excitement, happy tears, and celebrations made for some of the day’s most emotional photographs.
Erin Estate’s ceremony space is unlike anything else in Ontario.
Nestled within the woods and surrounded by nature, it created a beautiful setting for Afsha and Ata’s Nikah. From the ground, the ceremony felt intimate and peaceful. From above, the tree canopy and unique layout made for incredible drone photographs that showcased the scale and beauty of the venue.
After the ceremony, we stole away for a few more portraits around the property.
The pond offered a completely different atmosphere from the woodland ceremony space, giving us a chance to create elegant, romantic images while the excitement of the evening was just beginning.
The celebration shifted into high gear once everyone gathered inside the barn.
The evening featured energetic performances, including a dance from the women that immediately got the crowd involved. Afsha and Ata took to the dance floor together before the party truly erupted, filling the barn with nonstop dancing and celebration late into the night.
To close out an incredible first day, guests gathered outside the barn for a sparkler exit.
Surrounded by friends, family, and a tunnel of light, Afsha and Ata made their way into the night, bringing an unforgettable Nikah celebration to a perfect close.
The wedding celebrations didn’t end there.
The following day began with a portrait session at Gairloch Gardens, where Ata surprised Afsha with a vintage red convertible for their photoshoot. The Walima continued with more celebrations, more dancing, and even a surprise breakdancing performance from the groom himself.
Stay tuned for Part Two of Afsha and Ata’s wedding celebration.
