Mid-October brought the perfect blend of warmth and colour for Lindsay and Ugur’s wedding in Hamilton, a day filled with laughter, energy, and heartfelt moments from start to finish.
The morning began at the C Hotel in Hamilton, where Ugur and his brothers shared a relaxed start to the day. Between the final touches of suits and ties, there were plenty of laughs — and a toast of whiskey to kick things off in style. The atmosphere was equal parts calm and excitement as the brothers got ready to celebrate one of the biggest days of their lives.
One building over, Lindsay and her bridal party were getting ready in the beautiful bridal suite at Carmen’s Event Centre. Surrounded by friends and family, the suite was filled with laughter, hairspray, and happy chaos; the kind that always makes for great candid moments.
The ceremony at Carmen’s Event Centre took place outdoors under clear skies. Though the October air had a chill, the sunshine created an incredible glow behind the couple as they exchanged vows; the kind of light photographers dream of. The golden backlight made everything look magical and cinematic, especially as the newly married couple dipped and kissed in the middle of their aisle exit.
After the ceremony, the bridal party and I hopped into a limo and headed to Gage Park, one of Hamilton’s most iconic spots for wedding photos. The ride there was full of laughter and great moments (a few of which I managed to capture candidly).
At Gage Park, we started the session by popping a couple of bottles of champagne; not a bad way to warm up in the crisp fall air! From there, we captured a variety of shots: the full group, the groomsmen, the bridesmaids, and finally some romantic portraits of Lindsay and Ugur among the park’s trees and gardens. Even with the October chill, everyone was in high spirits, and the light was absolutely perfect.
The evening reception back at Carmen’s Event Centre was nothing short of unforgettable. After high-energy entrances that set the tone for the night, guests were treated to a round of heartfelt speeches, a sweet cake cutting, and a series of beautiful dance. From Lindsay’s emotional dance with her dad, to Ugur’s touching moment with his mum, and finally, the couple’s own choreographed first dance.
Then the party really began. In honour of Ugur’s Turkish background, the dance floor erupted into a series of traditional Turkish group dances — a whirling, joyful celebration that seemed to pull everyone in. Songs with ever-escalating tempos (known in Turkish as halay or çiftetelli dances) kept the energy sky-high, and by the time Western hits started mixing in, the floor had turned into a vibrant, cultural fusion of movement, laughter, and joy.
It was one of those nights where every photo was alive with motion and emotion. The perfect end to a beautiful day.
Lindsay and Ugur’s wedding was a true reflection of who they are; warm, joyful, and full of love. From the glowing ceremony light to the wild Turkish dances, every moment was a reminder of how powerful and fun a wedding celebration can be.
