A laid back glamping wedding in the woods of Norfolk County

Just about an hour from Hamilton, tucked deep into the woods of Norfolk County, Homegrown Hideaway feels like one of those places you stumble upon and immediately want to stay awhile. Jessica and Nathan chose it for exactly that reason. It is relaxed, intimate, and surrounded by nature, yet still somehow feels elegant and intentional. Their wedding day unfolded like a modern fairy tale in the forest, complete with laughter, emotion, champagne, and a glowing fire to end the night. If you love weddings that blend natural beauty with real, unscripted moments, you can explore more celebrations like this in my wedding photography portfolio.

Getting Ready in the Barn at Homegrown Hideaway

The morning started in the barn where Jessica and the ladies got ready together. It was the kind of space that instantly sets the tone for the day. Rustic, light-filled, and full of energy. There was music playing, stories being shared, and a lot of laughter as everyone moved through hair, makeup, and final touches. At one point, the group stepped outside the barn and popped champagne together, glasses raised and bubbles flying. It was joyful and unscripted and exactly the kind of moment that makes getting ready photos feel alive.

A Woodland Ceremony with Flower Grannies and Big Emotions

The ceremony was held surrounded by trees, with sunlight filtering through the leaves. One of the most memorable touches was the flower grannies, who brought smiles to everyone’s faces as they made their way down the aisle. When Jessica walked in, Nathan’s reaction said everything. He was visibly emotional, taking in the moment as she approached, and it set a deeply heartfelt tone for the ceremony that followed.

Taking a Quiet Moment Together in a Glamping Tent

After the ceremony, Jessica and Nathan took a quiet breather together in one of the glamping tents. Just the two of them, a charcuterie board, and a moment to let everything sink in. They popped a bottle of champagne outside the tent and relaxed before rejoining their guests. It was such a perfect reflection of the day. Unrushed, personal, and centered on being present together. Those moments also made for some incredibly intimate and meaningful photos.

Wedding Party and Couple Portraits in the Woods by the River

We then headed into the woods for bridal party and couple portraits. Homegrown Hideaway is ideal for this. A river runs nearby, and as the sun dipped lower, light splashed beautifully through the trees, wrapping everyone in a soft golden glow. The mix of forest, water, and warm light gave their portraits a timeless, storybook feel.

A First Dance Under the Stars Outside the Reception Tent

As night fell, the reception came to life under the tent. Jessica and Nathan shared their first dance outside in the darkness, surrounded by twinkle lights and the quiet of the woods. It felt intimate and cinematic, like the world had narrowed down to just the two of them for that song.

Ending the Night Around the Fire at Homegrown Hideaway

The night ended the best way possible. Everyone gathered around a fire, chatting, laughing, and soaking in the last moments of the celebration. It was relaxed, cozy, and full of connection. A perfect ending to a wedding day that was equal parts laid back and magical.

If you are dreaming of a glamping wedding that feels personal, natural, and beautifully untraditional, Homegrown Hideaway is truly something special.
