The day began with getting ready at two separate homes in Burlington. There’s always something special about those quieter morning moments—anticipation building, laughter between friends, and all the little in-between interactions that set the tone for the day.
Julia shared a beautiful first look with her bridesmaids, a moment full of excitement and genuine emotion, before seeing Rodrigo for the first time. His reaction said everything.
From there, we made our way to The Lakeview—one of Hamilton’s most scenic waterfront wedding venues.
Despite some rain earlier in the morning that moved the ceremony indoors, the space still felt warm, intimate, and full of atmosphere. If anything, it added to the charm of the day.
Before things officially began, we took advantage of the surroundings for some portraits. Julia and Rodrigo brought their dog along, which made those early couple photos feel even more personal.
As the skies began to open up, we headed down to the waterfront for bridal party photos. With Lake Ontario stretching out behind them and dramatic skies overhead, the backdrop couldn’t have been better.
The mix of soft light and textured clouds gave everything a cinematic feel, and the energy from the group made it even more fun.
Inside, the reception space at The Lakeview proved just how beautiful an indoor wedding can be.
Clean, elegant, and filled with natural light, it created the perfect setting for a ceremony that still felt connected to the waterfront surroundings—proof that even a rain plan at The Lakeview in Hamilton can be stunning.
Later in the day, we snuck back out for more portraits—this time along the beach, weaving through the rocks and eventually making our way to the lighthouse.
This is where we captured one of my favourite drone shots to date: Rodrigo lifting Julia as the sun broke through behind them, creating this incredible glow over Lake Ontario. One of those moments that just comes together perfectly.
The evening carried on with everything you’d hope for in a great reception—heartfelt speeches, plenty of laughter, a few emotional moments, and a packed dance floor.
They even managed a bit of a table dash, making sure to get a photo with every guest, which always adds such a fun, personal energy to the night.
If you’re considering The Lakeview for your wedding, it’s easy to see why it’s such a popular choice.
With its lakeside views, versatile indoor spaces, and access to incredible photo locations along Lake Ontario, it offers so much flexibility—rain or shine.
And if you’re looking for a photographer who knows how to make the most of those moments and locations, I’d love to chat.
